The top of this head is stamped Jim O'Leary, which appears to be an owners name. Putter is very upright, and may have been reshafted. However, the 34 1/2" shaft and leather-wrap grip are old and date to the period. The original cross hatch scoring can still be seen on part of the face. Nice original horn and lead buttons on the sole.
Center-shaft clubs made in the UK date before 1910, when the R&A, but not the USGA, banned center-shafted clubs. In 1952, the R&A rescinded their ban. A rule against the croquet stroke was finally issued by both the R&A and the USGA in 1968.
