Before tractors and other mechanical equipment were used in golf course construction, horses had to bear the heavy lifting. This is a leather horseshoe that was worn by horses during early golf course construction. These leather boots were especially used to protect greens while grooming.

This horse boot is MASSIVE. It would have been used by a huge draught horse in the UK. Highly impressive. Stamped "LL". 8 1/2" x 9 1/4" and 6 1/2" tall. Weighs 3 1/2 pounds.
