From 1942 to 1945, very few professional golf tournaments were held because of World War II. Instead, the USGA partnered with the American Red Cross to stage now-legendary exhibition matches to raise money for the American Red Cross War Fund.
Offered here is a rare original certificate given to the Low Net golfer by the American Red Cross War Fund for a 1942 golf tournament held at famed Olympic Club.
Certificate measures 8 1/2" x 10".
This certificate has been part of the World Golf Hall of Fame's impressive collection for many years. It is being consigned today directly by the World Golf Hall of Fame.
