This circa 1880 unmarked lofter was reshafted back in the day and still retains its old sheepskin grip. The blade is lightly pitted, but the large wrought iron head retains a handsome look. The hosel, which has clear evidence of the blacksmith's less than perfect hosel weld near its top, measures 4 1/2" in length and 3/4" thickness. The extra long shaft measures 40 1/4". The face is slightly concave, as was normal for this period.
