Originally marketed as one of Brown’s “Heros of the Hazard” irons, this perforated putter was, well, a putter and used only on a green.  It was a simple decision to include a “hero” putter along with Brown’s other water irons.  The only problem was, who would want one? Not a lot of sand, or high grass on a green, though the greens could be wet. But, alas, the club was quite different!  It looked cool, and maybe it would sell! Such is the world of golf club innovation. Back in the hickory shaft era, clubmakers never knew if something would work or sell until they tried it. Given the rarity of this Brown perforated putter, it found little success.

This example still has the remains of its oval stamp and a few letters on the back of its head. The face still has its original line-scored oval to mark the sweet spot. The 33 ½” shaft is original as is the red India rubber grip.
