This Spalding fitting club is designed to help a golfer determine the correct length when ordering a new club to their specifications. A few are out there, but they have only one flat surface that runs the length of the yardstick part of the shaft. This club, however, is square—flat on all four sides— across that entire length. The upper 2/3 of the shaft is marked like a yardstick, in half-inch increments, from 30 to 48". All any golfer needed to do was to grasp the club, position the head at what they felt was the optimum distance away from their body, and then look at the shaft directly above the heel of their left hand. They could then easily read the measurement on the shaft.
The club is in outstanding original condition and would make a great addition to any collection.
