Alex Patrick grew up in Leven, Scotland where he was not only a talented amateur golfer, but also an apprentice in his family's clubmaking business. Upon his father's death in 1866, Alex took over the business and built a reputation as a fine club and ballmaker.
This Alex Patrick putter, with its slender neck and shallow face, is one of his earlier examples. The club shows normal wear. The 38" greenheart shaft is stamped 70, from the White Horse Whiskey collection that was once displayed in the US at various locations to promote their product. The replacement grip matches the period well.
The head measurements are: 5 1/4" length, 1 7/8" width, 1" face depth.
