Presented here is a circa 1900 hand-painted 1/2 liter porcelain stein with pewter lid produced by the O’Hara Dial Co. of Waltham, MA. The pewter-rimmed porcelain lid bears an image of a golf bag. The 5 1/4" tall stein weighs 1.4 pounds.
O'Hara Dial employed the Ceramic Arts Company of Trenton N.J. to paint their mugs. O'Hara would then craft the pewter lids themselves with porcelain inlays and fix them to the steins. The hinge operates smoothly and without flaw. This example offered here is in beautiful condition.
This hand-painted golf scene is on a 1/2 liter ceramic stein that itself is a work of art.
