Stamped "Kempshall Arlington" on one pole. Opposite pole is stamped "Pat 17554, Aug 15 1898". Made in 1903. Much of the original paint remains with nice luster. The bramble pattern rubber core ball shows little use with only one strike mark. The gutta percha cover shines through where the paint no longer remains. A very attractive ball. Sure mint balls look great, and can't be beat, but in many instances the randomness of the remaining paint provides the ball with a unique look that has a charm all to itself. Like it is an artistic creation of nature. Such is the case with this ball and many others. They might not have perfect paint, but they add to the artistry of a display.
