Offered here is a 13 1/2" tall c.1910 porcelain figurine made by Amphora Pottery Works. According to Shirley and Jerry Sprung, in their book Decorative Golf Collectibles, "Amphora Pottery Works was a manufacturer of stoneware and porcelain in Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia (now Czechoslovakia). Founded in 1892 by Hans Riessner, Carl Riessner, Eduard Stellmacher and Rudolf Kessel, the firm adopted the title Amphora in 1903. The mark may include the word Austria, since Bohemia was part of the empire of Austria-Hungary before WWII."
