1876 Letter from Professor Tait (father of Freddie Tait) to Robert Anderson (Anderson family, Old Course caretaker) on Union Club of St Andrews letterhead. Anderson was appointed to look after the Old Course at a rate of 10 shillings per week. Professor Tait is describing his recent travels to Glasgow and London and events of the past few months. The letter ends "Horrible weather, but we golf in spite of it."
This was previously owned by Tom Morris biographer and Historian Peter Crabtree, and was part of his legendary collection.
