1915 Letter from and signed by the R&A Secretary about club policies. One side contains a printed letter stating that upon meeting of "The Golf Club" of St Andrews on October 7, 1814. The committee has decided that members should pay one guinea as annual subscription."

George Cheape, Captain of the R&A, whose family would purchase the St Andrews Links six years later, oversaw the meeting and approved these policies. The letter also states that the golfer who proposes a new member shall be responsible for payment of the new member. On the other side is a note addressed to William Berrie, Esq. of Hayfield, dated September 7, 1815, instructing him that his payment is still due for the upcoming October meeting. This notice is signed by Stuart Charles Grace, Secretary of the R&A. So the full document is a notice of R&A policy on one side and letter to Berrie regarding the policies, signed by Grace, on the other.

This was previously owned by Tom Morris biographer and Historian Peter Crabtree, and was part of his legendary collection.
