1890 handwritten letter on official R&A Letterhead thanking the recipient for a sketch by Hodge which was used by Punch. And also thanking the recipient on behalf of Hodge. Signed H.S.C. Everard. Everard went on to write and publish in 1907 The History of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club, which is the seminal history of the esteemed R&A.
This was previously owned by Tom Morris biographer and Historian Peter Crabtree, and was part of his legendary collection.
