Tournament-Used 1972 PGA Championship Flag

The 1972 PGA Championship is famous for Gary Player's heroic 9-iron shot on the 18th hole to win his second PGA Championship.  Famed Sportswriter (who coined the term "Amen Corner") Herbert Warren Wind called the shot "one of the most spectacular recovery shots in championship history."

Presented here is an authentic Tournament-Used golf flag from the 11th hole of the 1972 PGA Championship.  Tournament-Used Flags are seldom offered for sale, especially from Major Championships.  The fact that this flag is from 1972 and is from a Major Championship won by Gary Player clearly makes this one of the most important golf flags ever offered in the hobby.  In fact, only a handful of older Tournament-Used Major Championship flags are have ever made it to the open market.  The flag displays slight use and contains a mint, vintage 1970's Standard Golf tag. The flag comes from a groundkeeper at the 1972 PGA Championship, and comes with a certificate of authenticity from Green Jacket Auctions and Ryan Carey/Tourflags.com.
