Authentic Bobby Jones Signature - PSA 10

        With due respect to Tiger Woods, many golf historians consider someone else the greatest golfer of all time - Bobby Jones. What makes Bobby Jones' accomplishments and fame even more amazing is the fact that he retired at the age of 28! To put that into context, if Tiger and Phil Mickelson had retired at that age, they would have retired in 2003 and 1998, respectively. Simply amazing.

        Presented here is a beautiful autograph of Bobby Jones. Obviously, authentic Bobby Jones autographs are exceedingly rare - especially full signature autographs like this one. Bobby Jones is believed to have penned this autograph in 1932.  Decidely the Bobby Jones cut signature was penned in the early '30's, most likely 1932. This we readily interpret from by the two mounting strips appearing on either edge of the medium type referencing "Waterman"The Waterman pen compqny sponsored an autograph gathering sweepstakes for children in 1932. Sign up for the contest and you would recieve 40 strips, with the printing of Waterman on each strip. These strips were to be used to attach your autograph book, also provided by Waterman. The entire book was then sent to Waterman for judging as to the quality and importance. white strip (measuring From that effort is offered the cut signature of Bobby Jones. Also included in this winning entry, But not included in this sale were Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jim Thorpe, Jack Dempsey, Bronko Nagurski, Johnny Weismueller and 13 others. The Jones signature is placed on a clean white strip (measuring 11/4" X 31/2") and encapsulated by PSA/DNA to warrant a declared value of GEM MINT 10 ----------- A finer Jones signature does not exist.
