1953 Palm Beach Championships Program with 5 Early Golf Signatures

Presented here is a hard to find Program from the 1953 Palm Beach Championship, also known as the Palm Beach Round Robin.  The Palm Beach was held from 1938 to 1957, and was won by Ben Hogan twice and Sam Snead an incredible 5 times.  Winning the Palm Beach was considered a great achievement, as it was a small invitational tournament consisting of only 15 or 16 of the top pros in the country.  It had a unique format that can only be described as similar to the Ryder Cup, where individuals were pitted against each other in order to win tournament points.

This great Program contains vintage autographs of 5 participants in the 1953 tournament, including some very difficult to obtain autographs of early Major Championship winners:

 Cary Middlecoff -1955 Masters; 1949 U.S. Open; 1956 U.S. Open  (Deceased: 1998)

 Julius Boros - 1952 U.S. Open; 1963 U.S. Open; 1968 PGA Championship  (Deceased: 1994)

Jack Burke, Jr. - 1956 Masters; 1956 PGA Championship

Dave Douglas - 7-time winner on PGA Tour; Member of winning 1953 Ryder Cup team  (Deceased: 1974)

Jim Ferrier - 1947 PGA Championship  (Deceased: 1986
