Original Oil Painting by Helen Rundell of Arnold Palmer

Most golfers likely recognize this work by famed artist Helen Rundell depicting Arnold Palmer saying goodbye to the Open Championship and St. Andrews. Rundell's stunning lifelike painting has been featured many times since its completion in 1998, and has been reproduced in various forms, including 500 prints signed by Palmer and 50 artist's proofs. But presented here today is not one of the signed lithographs, or even one of the artist's proofs, both of which routinely sell for thousands of dollars. We feel very privileged to offer the Original Oil Painting "Palmer's Farewell to the Open" by Helen Rundell. The famous work has, of course, been signed by the artist and by Mr. Palmer.

This Original Oil Painting comes directly from the only owner its ever had, who purchased it directly from the company that commissioned the piece in 1999. It comes with all the necessary provenance, some of which is pictured below. We have also included a photo of Palmer signing the prints that were made from this impressive painting. The painting was appraised in 1999 at $65,000-$70,000, which is comparable to the sales price of similar Helen Rundell works. For those not too familiar with Rundell's work, a simple Google search will no doubt provide with all the information you need to know. For instance, her paintings currently reside in the National Museum of Art in D.C., the Smithsonian Institute, and the Nelson Rockefeller Collection, among many others.
