Jack Nicklaus' Personal 1978 Irons

Offered here is the truly rare opportunity to obtain a complete set of Jack Nicklaus' personal, used irons from 1978. These gorgeous, minimalistic blades consist of a 1-iron thru 10-iron (stamped "10" instead of PW!), which contain no serial numbers or model numbers whatsoever. The irons are of the MacGregor 985 style, but do not have no markings related to 985.

These clubs were obtained directly from Jack Nicklaus' longtime clubmaker Jack Wullkotte, who made these clubs for Nicklaus in 1978. According to Wullkotte, these irons were used by Nicklaus and then given by Nicklaus to a friend. Many years later the clubs made their way back to Wullkotte, who replaced the shafts back to the original shafts (somewhere in the 30+ previous years the shafts had been changed). According to Wullcotte, the loft and lie of each club (and now, thanks to Wullkotte, the shafts and grips too) are to Jack Nicklaus' exact specs in 1978.

Accompanying this great set of clubs is a detailed letter from from the collector who obtained this set directly from Mr. Wullkotte himself.
