The Ryder Cup
1922 USGA Public Links Competitor Badge
(First-Ever!)
USGA Championships began in 1895 with the Men's Open and Amateur and one Ladies
Championship. It wasn't until 1922 that a fourth event - the Public Links - was
initiated by the USGA and it was played at Ottawa Park in Toledo, Ohio. There
were 136 starters and this item is a badge worn by one of those first ever
contestants. The medal itself is virtually in mint condition with only remnants
of the original ribbon left.
