Al Geiberger's 1966 PGA Champion
Liquor Decanter
The
"Mr. 59" Al Geiberger Collection
In this auction, we have the extreme pleasure of offering virtually the entire
collection of "Mr. 59" Al Geiberger. Ryan and Bob recently flew out to Palm
Springs to shoot Mr. Geiberger and his collection for the Pilot episode of a new
reality TV show based on Green Jacket Auctions. While we were there, Al
Geiberger decided that rather than continuing to keep his collection packed away
in a California storage facility, he felt that it was his duty to share his
memorabilia with the world. Nothing was off limits to Green Jacket
Auctions. We came home with some of the most historic pieces of golf memorabilia
that we have ever offered, including Al Geiberger's Wannamaker Trophy and his
actual golf clubs from the 59 Round. We hope that you enjoy viewing - and
bidding on - the "Mr. 59" Al Geiberger collection.
1966
PGA Champion Liquor Decanter
Offered here is an original
diamond-inlaid liquor decanter that was presented to Al Geiberger for winning
the 1966 PGA Championship. Mr. Geiberger does not recall if this was awarded to
him in 1966 or if it was awarded to him as a past PGA Champion a couple years later.
This high quality crystal decanter
was made by the world famous Orrefors of Sweden, and has a diamond inlaid above
the PGA logo. The stopper does have a small chip, but otherwise this decanter is
simply stunning.
This 1966 PGA Champion decanter is being auctioned today by Al Geiberger
himself, and comes with a letter of authenticity from Al Geiberger.
