Al Geiberger's 1967 Ryder Cup
Player's Money Clip
The
"Mr. 59" Al Geiberger Collection
In this auction, we have the extreme pleasure of offering virtually the entire
collection of "Mr. 59" Al Geiberger. Ryan and Bob recently flew out to Palm
Springs to shoot Mr. Geiberger and his collection for the Pilot episode of a new
reality TV show based on Green Jacket Auctions. While we were there, Al
Geiberger decided that rather than continuing to keep his collection packed away
in a California storage facility, he felt that it was his duty to share his
memorabilia with the world. Nothing was off limits to Green Jacket
Auctions. We came home with some of the most historic pieces of golf memorabilia
that we have ever offered, including Al Geiberger's Wannamaker Trophy and his
actual golf clubs from the 59 Round. We hope that you enjoy viewing - and
bidding on - the "Mr. 59" Al Geiberger collection.
1967
Ryder Cup Money Clip
Money clips have long been issued to
players for competing in amateur and professional golf tournaments. These player
money clips are highly sought-after by collectors, with even high quality
replica examples often selling for hundreds of dollars.
Offered here is a truly exceptional
original money clip - the actual money clip issued to Al Geiberger for
participating in the 1967 Ryder Cup. This money clip represents Al Geiberger's
most cherished item from the 1967 Ryder Cup. No players' Ryder Cup trophy was
issued to players then, but the Ben Hogan-led U.S. Squad was given this money
clip.
This 1967 Ryder Cup money clip is being auctioned today by Al Geiberger himself,
and comes with a letter of authenticity from Al Geiberger.
