1890's Hickory Wood Face

Spalding Patented Cleek Iron

Offered here is a hard to find 1890's Hickory Wood Face Spalding Cleek, which is in very good condition.

This cleek is 40.5" in length, has a straight hickory shaft with a polished finish. The period style grip and whipping are in excellent condition. The shaft is tight to the hosel and the pin is not visible. The wood lined face insert is clean, very little damage. The insert is screwed in from the back with two standard screws. The back is stamped with an Arrow, Spalding Gold Medal within an oval.  This club was patented by Spalding in 1897. A rare club that, with the wood face, was a reason many did not survive.
