Ben Hogan
Original 1935 Masters Wire Photo
with Gene Sarazen
As you've no doubt seen by now, this Winter Golf
Auction by Green Jacket Auctions represents one of the greatest sales of golf
photographs in history. From Old Tom Morris & the origins of professional golf
to Bobby Jones & the founding of Augusta National, many of the offered
photographs are among the finest such examples in the hobby.
Offered here is an original 1935
photograph from one of the most important golf tournaments of all-time - the
1935 Masters Tournament. At the 2nd Masters Tournament, Gene Sarazen scored a
double eagle on the 15th hole of his final round en route to his eventual
victory. That single shot is often credited with putting the Masters Tournament
on the map and ushering in the modern age of professional golf.
This is an original 8"x10" photograph
from that 1935 Masters Tournament, which depicts eventual winner Gene Sarazen
with Charlie Yates. Photo is in very good condition. Reverse has NEA stamp from
1935 and handwritten notes as to the subjects, Sarazen and Yates.
