Ed Dudley's 1946 Masters Tournament
Player Gift Plate
In this auction, we have the extreme privilege of offering the personal
collection of the late Ed Dudley. In addition to being a 15 time winner on the
PGA Tour, Dudley is probably best known for being the 1st Head Pro at Augusta
National. Not only was he Head Pro at Augusta, Dudley also competed in every
Masters Tournament from 1934 to 1950. Dudley was also the golf coach for Dwight
Eisenhower, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.
Presented here is former Augusta
National Head Professional Ed Dudley's 1946 Masters Tournament gift. This 7 3/4"
diameter sterling and china plate was presented to each golfer who participated
in the 1946 Masters Tournament.
Dudley's name is engraved into the lower portion of the plate. Also, though the
sterling silver portion of the trophy is tarnished, silver is very easy to
polish, and should clean up beautifully.
