Ed Dudley's
1949 Ryder Cup Player Pin
In this auction, we have the extreme privilege of offering the personal
collection of the late Ed Dudley. In addition to being a 15 time winner on the
PGA Tour, Dudley is probably best known for being the 1st Head Pro at Augusta
National. Not only was he Head Pro at Augusta, Dudley also competed in every
Masters Tournament from 1934 to 1950. Dudley was also the golf coach for Dwight
Eisenhower, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.
Presented here is an original "Player
Pin" from the 1949 Ryder Cup Matches. Though Dudley participated in 3 Ryder Cups
as a golfer (1929, 33 & 37), he likely received this "Player Pin" due to his
position as President of the PGA of America - a position he help from 1942 to
1948.
