Ben Hogan
Ed Dudley's
1951 Ryder Cup Money Clip
In this auction, we have the extreme privilege of offering the personal
collection of the late Ed Dudley. In addition to being a 15 time winner on the
PGA Tour, Dudley is probably best known for being the 1st Head Pro at Augusta
National. Not only was he Head Pro at Augusta, Dudley also competed in every
Masters Tournament from 1934 to 1950. Dudley was also the golf coach for Dwight
Eisenhower, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.
Presented here is Ed Dudley's actual
1951 Ryder Cup Money Clip. Though Dudley participated in 3 Ryder Cups (1929,
1933 and 1937), he likely attended the 1951 Ryder Cup in his capacity as former
President of the PGA of America.
The 1951 Ryder Cup is quite historic,
as Ben Hogan participated in the Ryder Cup for the 2nd and final time.
Additionally, the American Team dominated the competition at a quintessentially
American course - Pinehurst No. 2.
