Dwight Eisenhower Letter to Ed Dudley
with Historic Golfing Content
In this auction, we have the extreme privilege of offering the personal
collection of the late Ed Dudley. In addition to being a 15 time winner on the
PGA Tour, Dudley is probably best known for being the 1st Head Pro at Augusta
National. Not only was he Head Pro at Augusta, Dudley also competed in every
Masters Tournament from 1934 to 1950. Dudley was also the golf coach for Dwight
Eisenhower, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.
Offered here is an original 1953
letter from President Dwight Eisenhower to Augusta National Head Pro Ed Dudley.
This letter contains some truly exceptional golf content, as Eisenhower
describes stopping traffic while practicing his golf swing outside The White
House, playing Burning Tree, and a future "secret" trip to Augusta National.
This original 1953 letter is on White
House stationary, and is signed by the President "D.E." This letter comes with
its original envelope from The White House to Augusta National.
