1927 Walter Hagen Mesh Golf Balls

- Complete Untouched Dozen!

Every once in a while, we stumble across something that just seems to good to be true.

Offered here is complete dozen of the rarest of rare Walter Hagen golf balls - the 1927 Walter Hagen Golf Co.-L.A. Young Company mesh golf balls. And not only is this a complete untouched dozen, but they come in the original box and original never-before-seen Hagen silhouette tissue paper wrappers.

These 1927 Hagen mesh pattern golf balls have always been highly-sought after in any condition, with the 2004 book Antique Golf Collectibles by Chuck Furjanic listing individual balls at $700, and recent mint examples fetching over $1,000.

But this box of balls is something you've surely never seen before and will never see again. This is an entire box of gem mint mesh pattern 1927 Walter Hagen golf balls, which come in their original box, original sleeves, and even the never-seen-before original Walter Hagen silhouette tissue paper.

This box, the sleeves, and the tissue paper have perfectly preserved these dozen golf balls for the past 87 years! Each of these balls are exceptional - exhibiting between 95%-100% of their original paint. A majority of the balls literally look like they were produced yesterday. For the Walter Hagen or golf ball collector, this collection is simply unimprovable - these aren't just the finest Walter Hagen golf balls in existence, they’re among the finest pieces of Hagen memorabilia in the hobby.

Interestingly, the box was originally produced with "The Walter Hagen Golf Company" on the side of the box and each sleeve. That text was covered with stickers bearing the name "The L.A. Young Company" - which purchased the Hagen Company in 1927. The only reason we even noticed this was that the sticker on the outside of the box is half-removed. Therefore, we can very accurately date these golf balls to the period of transition from the Walter Hagen Golf Company to the L.A. Young Company in 1927.

While we'd love for these balls to find a home together, it is also enticing to think that the break-up value of these gem mint balls in certainly well over $15,000.
