Scarce 1999 PGA Championship Flag

And here it is - the absolute most sought-after souvenir golf flag in existence. Authentic 1999 PGA Championship golf flags (or as flag collectors simply call it - "the '99 Medinah") are exceedingly rare. The golf flag boom had not yet occurred, and only a small number of flags were ordered for the 1999 PGA Championship. The small quantity that was ordered may have been fine for 1998 when Vijay Singh won the tournament, but the PGA was not prepared for a young Tiger Woods' duel against Sergio Garcia.

You already know that Tiger's victories made everything bigger and better, be it television ratings or tournament purses, but this is also true for Major Championship golf flags. For flag collectors, only two of Tiger's Major victories occurred before the golf flag boom of the early 2000's. Because of that, the two flags from Tiger's pre-2000 Major Championship victories (1997 Masters and 1999 PGA Championship) are exceedingly rare. Authentic unsigned examples of each flag sell for a minimum of $2,000-$3,000 each.

Of Tiger Woods' 14 Major Championships, the 1999 PGA Championship golf flag is far and away the rarest and most desirable (yes, even more so than the 1997 Masters flag). For every one 1999 PGA Championship flag in existence, we think it's fair to say that 10 1997 Masters flags exist.
