Historic Set of 1909-1912
Aucheterlonie Salesman Sample Golf Clubs
Offered here is the finest set of early 1900s "Salesman Sample" golf clubs that
we've ever encountered. This is an exceptional collection of salesman sample
irons and woods are from St. Andrews' famous clubmaking family, the
Auchterlonies.
These clubs range from only 12 1/2" to 15" long, and
are every bit as handmade as the full-size Auchterlonie clubs of the day. These
small Salesman Sample clubs would allow a salesman to easily transport the
company's latest club offerings to golf shops and sporting goods stores without
having to lug around dozens of full-size golf clubs.
This set consists of four original Auchterlonie irons and one
longnose wood. The irons are approximately 12" long, and the longnose wood is
15" long.
The irons are all engraved "London Scottish Golf Club Autumn
Meeting" and each is dated a different year from 1909-1912.
These clubs are in exceptional condition. Surely among the
finest examples in existence.
