Contestant’s Badge – Alexa Stirling

Alexa Stirling was one of the great female golfers of her generation. She grew up playing golf with a kid named Bobby Jones at East Lake, and experienced great success before the young Jones would himself break through.
Offered here is the only known Contestant’s Badge from Alexa Stirling’s victory at the 1919 U.S. Women’s Amateur. The 1919 U.S. Women’s Am was held at Shawnee Country Club, and was the first tournament held after World War I.
Gilchrist’s Guide to Golf Collectibles (2004) lists this contestant’s badge as “None Known”.
