By all accounts, Golfing: A Handbook of the Royal and Ancient Game is an extremely difficult find within collecting circles and is worthy of being a cornerstone in any golf library.  This First Edition example was compiled and published by William and Robert Chambers in 1887.  Other period golf books by Chambers routinely sell well into the thousands.  This book should be no exception, as it displays in overall good condition with a tight spine and binding.  Gilchrist’s Guide to Golf Collectibles values this book at $2,750.
