 Offered here is an 1896 First Edition of The Golf Book of East Lothian by John Kerr.  By the time Kerr came on the scene, the game was very popular. Everyone was playing, not just the aristocracy.  Kerr collected all the information about the golf courses and the clubs of East Lothian, really wonderful stuff about the personalities, problems, triumphs … the whole camaraderie of golf. 

Overall, this is a very good copy of an important and rare golfing title, despite some fading and light wear on the cover and spine of the book.  It is the first small paper edition, No.52 of a Limited Edition of 500 copies, signed to Limitation page by the author.  The book is valued at $7,500 within Gilchrist’s Guide to Golf Collectibles.
