Allan Robertson, Golfer: His Life and Times
Signed by Alistair Beaton Adamson

Offered here is a mesmerizing account of the life of Allan Robertson by Alistair Beaton Adamson, titled Allan Robertson, Golfer: His Life and Times.  One can only guess what Allan Robertson may have accomplished should he not have passed away at the early age of 43.  He was considered the first-ever professional golfer and was the first player to break 80 at St. Andrews.

In addition, The Open Championship came about as a result of Robertson's death. Since he was recognized as the best player during much of his lifetime, golfers at Prestwick Golf Club formed a competition in 1860, to decide who would succeed him as the "Champion Golfer". This Publisher’s Presentation Copy from 1985 has been signed by the author and features the very low number 33.  It is in Very Good condition with marbled end papers, gold gilt edges and a slipcase.
