Blue Copeland Spode
Whisky Jug w/ Stopper

Presented here is a Blue Spode stoneware Whisky Jug with tiny spout and original stopper. This whisky jug is an extremely rare shape, such that our consignor, a prominent ceramics/pottery collector, has not seen another in 20+ years of collecting.  It is not shown in Sprung’s Book, Decorative Golf Collectibles, which notes that the firm dates back to 1770 and that these pieces were crafted in the ‘early 1900s’ (1910s-1930s).  The jug measures 5” high and was 5” in diameter at its widest point and displays in excellent condition.  The Copeland-Spode maker’s mark is located on the base.
