Blue
Copeland Spode Teapot w/ Lid
Presented
here is a Blue Spode stoneware Teapot with lid.
The teapot can be seen in Sprung’s book, Decorative Golf Collectibles,
pg. 22. Per Sprung’s book, the firm
dates back to 1770 and these pieces were made in the ‘early 1900s’
(1910s-1930s).
In
terms of condition, there is a very slight hairline repair on the inside of the
bottom of the handle, adjacent to the body of the teapot. The repair is not noticeable unless
specifically searching for it and not a serious flaw. Otherwise, this is
a rare piece in excellent overall condition.
The teapot measures 5” high and bears the Copeland-Spode maker’s mark on
the base.
