Lot Description  

This is an original 1955 oil on canvas board painting titled "Opening Day at Brookside" 1955 by Helen Taub. This is a quite whimsical folk art painting depicting Brookside Country Club with many movie stars and famous golfers in the scene. The recognizable figures include Marilyn Monroe, Ben Hogan, Frank Sinatra, Jack Gleason, Art Carney, and Vic Dimone. This original oil painting measures 18" x 24", and is framed to an overall size of 21" x 27".
