Offered here is a stunning original photograph of Old Tom Morris. This is the only known photograph of this image in existence. It was previously attributed to a different golf course, but the removal of the prior matting reveals a notation that refers to Moray Golf Club at Lossiemouth.

Captain James Brander of Pitgaveny, also a founding member, leased the land to the club and Old Tom Morris designed the layout. This photo is quite exceptional, as it is quite large for a 19th century photograph. The image itself is 5 1/2" x 8". Even more impressive is the quality of the photograph. The clarity of this photograph is simply remarkable for both its age and for the time period it was taken.
