The rarity and beauty of this 5 ¾” tall, blue CAC (Ceramic Art Company)/Lenox Porcelain Stein cannot be overstated, as it was crafted circa 1896-1906. Per Sprung’s book, Decorative Golf Collectibles, “Walter Scott Lenox founded the Ceramic Art Company in Trenton, NJ in 1889, but Lenox assumed complete control around 1895. In 1906, the name was changed to Lenox China Company.”
Blue steins like this example are far more rare than green, and this is in nice condition. The pictures cannot possibly capture the beauty of the deep blue color. The CAC maker’s mark, although faint can be found within the wreath on the base.
