Offered here is one of the most famous golf advertising pieces in existence. “Scottie Dog” was a circa 1920s advertising figure for the North British Twin Dot Golf Ball, and was intended to be a sporting goods store countertop golf ball display. More than one version was produced, this being the early, highly desirable original wood base version with the dog on a North British base. Collectors often resort to producing a replica base for the later-produced Scottie Dog figures, but the offered example is the creme of the crop. This exceptional circa 1920s golf ball advertising display stands approximately 13" tall.
