According to the famous book Decorative Golf Collectibles by Shirley & Jerry Sprung, “Walter Scott Lenox founded the Ceramic Art Company in Trenton, NJ in 1889, but Lenox assumed complete control around 1895. In 1906, the name was changed to Lenox China Company.” The early pieces marked “CAC” for Ceramic Art Company are coveted by collectors. This early piece contains the old CAC mark as well as the new Lenox name.
