Offered here is a rare Artist’s Proof bronze by the well-regarded sculptor Chapel. This bronze depicts Bobby Jones hitting out of the Cottage Bunker in the 1930 British Amateur – when Jones holed the 140 yard bunker shot and carded an eagle on the 4th hole en route to victory (and, eventually, the Grand Slam).
Unlike many other Bobby Jones bronzes out there, this piece was officially authorized by the heirs of Bobby Jones. This is one of only 500 statues produced in 1998, of which just 50 were Artist Proofs – this being #11. This bronze is very large. It stands 18" tall in total and weighs a hefty 22 pounds.
