Offered here is a rare circa 1911 Dwight's Directional Iron. According to Jeff Ellis in "The Clubmaker's Art," "few examples of Dwight's Directional clubs remain." Dr. John H. Dwight's clubs were intentionally designed so that the center shaft, the ball, and the weight would all lined up together. But he sold his clubs via mail order from Des Moines, Iowa, so that may help explain why they did not sell (and, therefore, their extreme scarcity today).
