We have the extreme privilege of offered Alice Denton Jennings' original handprint analysis of legendary golfer Bobby Jones. The famous Palm Reader Jennings was a big deal in the 1930s and obtained detailed handprints of the most famous people in the world for her best selling book Your Hand Tells All: A Manual of Simplified Palmistry. Included were handprints, and the analysis of these handprints, of President Roosevelt, Babe Ruth, boxers Jack Dempsey and Max Baer, and Bobby Jones. Jennings' handprint of Babe Ruth sold for $222,000 at auction. Well, in this auction we have the 2nd most desirable handprint from Alice Denton Jennings' personal archives - the handprint of Bobby Jones.
The very detailed handprint is on paper from Jennings' studio, and contains a high grade 1930s autograph of Bobby Jones. It is currently housed in an attractive portfolio, and includes Jennings' analysis of the golf champion's hand:
"The line of mental and muscular coordination is the upward curve extending from what is known as the line of head, which begins under the first finger and runs straight across the palm. This curve denotes perfect concentration and unusual coordination of mind and muscle."
Well we don't know much about palm reading, but "perfect concentration and unusual coordination of mind and muscle" certainly sounds like Bobby Jones to us!
One of a kind piece of Bobby Jones memorabilia. 8 1/2" x 11". Full right hand print of Bobby Jones, which he autographed. Beautifully preserved in a custom hand tooled leather portfolio with hand laid photograph and slip case. Portfolio measures 11" x 14".
In our opinion, this should be one of the most valuable pieces of Bobby Jones memorabilia to ever reach the auction block.
