Offered here is a circa 1914 Willie Park Jr. American patent (applied for) step face mashie niblick. As described by Jeff Ellis, "[t]he clubface has stepped formations beginning at the leading edge and receding towards and terminating at the top line." Also noted by Ellis, "Spalding marketed Park's club on a small scale, but never listed it in any of their catalogs. Less than five are known." Excellent condition. 

This club originates from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and this exact club was featured in his books The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 245; TCA 2, p. 287). This club has not reached the collector market since its sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
