Offered here is a circa early 1900s Crawford, McGregor & Canby Steel Face Driver. According to The Clubmaker's Art, this "is the only club known that has a steel face that continues and covers the neck as well." This club has been refurbished and appears to have had the head polished and new whipping.   

This club originates from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and this exact club was featured in his books The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 343; TCA 2, p. 421). This club has not reached the collector market since its sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
