When Scotty Cameron himself learned that this putter was in a private collection, he was surprised the putter was anywhere but in Tiger Wood's garage. It turns out that Tiger Woods gave this putter to his frequent golf partner Randy Peterson, who is currently a Director at Callaway, before the 1997 golf season began. The putter was a prototype; Tiger got a new teryllium putter from Scotty Cameron that he would famously use to win the 1997 Masters Tournament by 12 strokes.
Offered here is Tiger Woods' actual personally used 1996 Scotty Cameron Newport Xperimental prototype teryllium putter. Hand stamped "TIGER" in dancing letters on the toe. Stamped "Proto" and "XXX" on reverse bumpers.
Included with this putter is a Scotty Cameron autographed Circle T "The Art of Putting" headcover.
Certificate of Authenticity from Scotty Cameron. It should also be noted that there's a hidden message on the Certificate from Scotty Cameron - the last 5 digits of the certificate number (84437) spells out "Tiger" on a phone.
