Two typed letters (1 final and 1 draft) from The Professional Golfers Association of London, dated November 15, 1902. Addressed to Stuart Grace, Secretary of the Rules Committee of the R&A. The letter states that the Committee from the Professional Golfers Association recently met and they are concerned about the introduction of the rubber core golf ball and believe that it should NOT be allowed in the Open Championship. The letter states that the rubber core ball “while admittedly affording a pleasure to many players, is not conducive to the advancement of golf as a game of skill.”

These documents were previously owned by Tom Morris biographer Peter Crabtree, and was part of his legendary collection.
