Offered here is a rare Scotty Cameron Tour Newport "Beach" in pro platinum made for David Duval.
Vog says: Wow, I last saw this putter online at least 20 years ago. It was prior to Scotty's authentication service as I recall, because it surfaced on the old Yahoo Scotty Cameron chat board which was THE place to talk Cameron putters until about 2005. Whether the putter was authentic or not certainly divided the collector community at the time. It LOOKED good, but what did DDSM stand for? The COA does not disclose that secret, but 30+ years of collecting experience has formed this educated guess: "David Duval Special Model." Duval liked the Newport, he liked the Beach version with floating face, and he liked pro platinum or black star finish. The Inspired by David Duval was essentially this model. Was it made for Duval's use? Was it perhaps a prototype of what would become the IBDD? Given it also has a T stamp, I'd guess it was made for Duval's use.
Condition is mint, 9.8 out of 10, 33 3/4", with Inspired by DD headcover.
