Spalding's spring face irons were produced for a number of years in America, between 1902 and 1919. The example offered here has its original 39 1/4" shaft that also bears the Spalding stamp. The white kid grip is also original.
The 1897 patent date on the back shows that this spring-face cleek was covered by James Cran's patent on his Cran cleek. The spring face is a variaton on the Cran's wood face.
